ARE YOU READY FOR THE WORKFORCE?
WE CAN HELP YOU GET READY
About FYE
The employment landscape is undergoing a transformative shift, and individuals are increasingly
seeking new and meaningful career paths. Many are reluctant to return to traditional roles, fueled
by a growing demand for skilled workers amid a slowdown in business growth and rising labor
costs. Recognizing this shift, companies are proactively retraining job seekers to align with the
evolving job market.
In response to these changes, For Your Edification Institute (FYE) has emerged as a catalyst for
dismantling barriers to entering the Workforce. These obstacles include deficiencies in basic
literacy and numeracy skills, limited proficiency in computer technology, and a lack of essential
workability skills. As a subsidiary of Seed of Faith Ministries, FYE is dedicated to uplifting the
community by preparing individuals for the job market.
Dr. McQueen, the visionary behind FYE and founder of Seed of Faith Ministries, brings a wealth
of experience as both a minister and an educator. Ordained in 2014 by Bishop Leon Martin, she
has served in ministry for over 30 years and has an extensive background in special education,
particularly with at-risk and low-achieving students, including those with learning disabilities
and autism. Now in retirement, Dr. McQueen has shifted her focus towards rehabilitating adults
who, for various reasons—physical, mental, or emotional—are unprepared for the workforce.
FYE, under Dr. McQueen's leadership, is committed to delivering comprehensive education to
empower individuals for successful transitions into self-sufficiency. The institute encourages the
recognition and development of each individual's unique gifts, talents, and abilities, fostering
self-advocacy skills to unlock their full potential.
At the present time Dr. McQueen is training women who are in a recovery program for alcohol
and drug abuse. Their classes include Life Skills, Ready for Work, Computer Technology, and
basic literacy skills.
Employing research-based educational curricula for adults, FYE conducts pre-tests to
assess students' needs and places them in tailored education and employment preparedness
programs. The curricula align with the Common Core State Standards of the California Board of
Education, ensuring a robust educational foundation.
Notably, FYE's programs adhere to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
requirements and meet the Department of Labor's standards for evaluating student performance
and progress. If your company or organization identifies unique populations in need of remedial
training, FYE invites you to contact us at admin@fyeinstitute.org. Together, we can contribute to
the transformation of individuals and communities in their journey toward self-sufficiency in the
evolving job market.
